Trying to get tickets for a well known concert or sports event can be a frustrating experience. Believe me, I know. If you’re like me, you’ve probably encounter a message letting you know that there presale password were no longer tickets available, even though tickets only went sale a couple of minutes ago! You logged in on time, zoomed through the ticket buying process, and even tried pulling tickets in multiple windows..and yet nothing. Frustrated, you bang your fist on the keyboard, causing everything to fall in a chain reaction like a car crash at the Daytona 500.
How could this have happened, you wonder? Unfortunately the cold-hard the fact is this: you will find tens and thousands of other people doing the same thing at the exact same time. When you’re trying to get tickets for an event, you’re not just competing with other die-hard concert fans. You’ll often be competing against people armed with better tools than yourself. This type of person called ticket brokers, and they are known to use sophisticated ticket-buying software as well as networks of men and women to mass-buy the most effective seats in the house. They create a very profitable business out of snapping up as numerous seats as they are able to, forcing the big event to market out, and then re-selling them at above face value. This will actually be a very profitable business.
This does not mean that you don’t stand the opportunity to getting great seats by yourself during the public on-sale. But how could you give yourself a bonus over all of this competition? There are many methods you can use to increase your chances to getting great tickets at face value, and this information centers on one of the easiest and most effective ways: benefiting from presales.
A presale is a special window of time during which you can buy tickets at face value, before each goes onsale to the general public. Think of a presale as a “sale prior to the sale.” Presales are often run on the internet site of the official ticket vendor (Ticketmaster, Live Nation, etc.) and are usually sponsored by fan clubs, r / c, e-newsletters, concert venues, and credit card companies. However, to be able to get access to a presale, one must obtain the right presale password, either from digging around the internet like a master detective, or from a website that lists them. The latter option is the easiest. After you have the password, you are able to get access to the presale and purchase tickets at face value as you might normally do during the official public onsale.
The benefit of course is that you get a first crack at tickets, giving you a leg up on the competition. You’re effectively doubling your chances to getting the seats you want. This is often crucial, because sometimes nearly ALL the tickets for an event can be found during a presale. For instance, when the UFC went along to Toronto, Canada for the very first time, it sold its entire block of 42, 000 tickets throughout the presale!
Don’t panic just yet, concert fan. For here would be the steps in benefiting from presales:
1. Obtain the password from a dependable presale password website.
2. Log onto event page at Ticketmaster, Live Nation, or wherever the tickets are increasingly being sold.
3. As soon as the clock turns to the time of the presale, refresh the page, enter the password, and specify the amount of tickets you want to buy.
4. Solve the CAPTCHA that may appear. Here is a useful tip: if buying through Ticketmaster, that you don’t need to key in spaces or have every single letter correct. A “mostly correct” CAPTCHA works the majority of the time, and can help you save from having to start all over again.
5. Here’s another tip: if that you don’t end up getting any seats, you should still repeat the above steps several times. The reason being lots of people will soon be pulling up and throwing back tickets during the first stages of a presale, and consequently, the amount of tickets available will change by the second.
There may be some limitations on presales, although they usually aren’t much of an issue. You may be limited by purchasing a maximum level of tickets, and as stated earlier, sometimes you will find only certain seats or sections available. Sometimes you have to be a paid member of the artist’s fan club in order to get your unique password. Finally, presales tend to occur during weekday mornings at 10am local time, so maybe you are at the office or school and unable to sign in at that time. However, in this very day and age, proper planning means it shouldn’t be hard to locate a computer almost anywhere you may be.
Finally, just understand that if you would like the most effective tickets, timing is everything. Be on time, and complete the above steps as fast as you can. Just because you’re competing with less people does not mean pulling the most effective seats will soon be easy. Perhaps the most important tip is to get your password from a good site. This saves you both time and money. Besides, there’s nothing worse than getting the incorrect password and not having the capability to find yourself in the presale in the very first place.
